This page contains information on the missions, vehicles, properties and upgrades available in the Doomsday Heist update for GTA Online.

The Doomsday Heist is the 20th major update for Grand Theft Auto Online. It centers around a three-act story, with each act being (essentially) one large heist mission. Each mission will require preparatory missions, advanced setup missions and finally the act's finale.

In addition to the three new heist / story missions, the update includes:

  • Choice of 9 IAA Facility locations available for purchase (limit one per player)
  • Customization options for IAA facility
  • 9 new weaponized vehicles
  • 6 new high end vehicles
  • The Avenger Flying Fortress command center
  • Orbital Cannon
  • New Mk II weapons are available for upgrade through the MOC (Mobile Operations Center) and the Avenger
  • 8 New Trophies & Achievements

Doomsday Heist Missions

The Doomsday Heist has three "acts," each of which requires players to prepare and setup for, then execute a complicated multi-part heist mission. Players registered as a CEO, VIP or MC President can launch these missions. The breakdown of the mission parts are as follows:

Prep Missions

Preparation missions require the Heist Leader and a crew of two to four players (or 8, if they're an MC president with a full club) to procure certain assets that are needed to complete the Setup and Heist missions.

These work similarly to Gunrunning, Smuggling, MC or Import/Export missions - the players must collect the assets while in freeroam mode and get them back to their base to ready them for the mission. Any other players in the session who also need these supplies will be notified that this item is being moved, and may attempt to steal it for themselves.

If you don't want to bother with all that and have deep enough pockets, you can also purchase the necessary items instead of stealing them.

Setup Missions

These missions are more structured and do not take place in free roam. Similar to the setup missions in the original Heists update. They will feature specific objectives related to the finale heist, and can be completed in any order. The crew leader will not receive compensation for these missions, but the other members of their team will.

Heist Finales

These are the culmination of all of your preparation and setup missions. You and your three teammates will need to be in constant communication and work together to complete all parts of these complex, multi-faceted missions.

This mission's payout is divided up by the crew leader - the intention is to recoupe their losses form the setup missions while also turning a tidy profit. Players in the crew can vote on whether or not they are satisfied with their share of the take. New from the last Heists update is the ability to launch a Heist mission with only two players.

IAA Facilities

In order to begin The Doomsday Heist storyline, you must first purchase one of the nine newly disclosed underground IAA bases hidden around San Andreas. When purchasing one of these bases, players have the option of upgrading the following amenities:

  • Facility Designs:
Choose on of nine graphics to be the symbol of your base.
  • Facility Style:
There are nine different color schemes available for the abandoned IAA base.
  • Lounge:
The base comes with an employee lounge, but these areas can be upgraded with optional design styles.
  • Orbital Cannon:
This satellite-mounted superweapon can be unlocked by purchasing a War Room for your facility. Ammunition must be purchased individually.
  • Personal Quarters:
Provide yourself with a bed and wardrobe, allowing you to spawn at your base.
  • Security Room:
This addition features a gun locker to change loadouts at, as well as computer terminals to monitor the base's security cameras and also recruit a strike team of NPC soldiers to accompany you while in Freeroam.

More information on pricing will be added soon!

Orbital Cannon

The Orbital Cannon, once purchased, can be used in three different ways:

  • Surveillance: Players select this and are able to maneuver the Satellite cam around freely, using it to view other players or parts of the world. There is no cost associated with this option as the player cannot fire the weapon.
  • Manual Targeting: After locating a viable target, this option has the player fire the orbital cannon themselves.
  • Automatic Targeting: This option allows players to remotely choose a player from the session list to be tracked, targeted and fired upon by the Orbital Cannon.

Each firing charge of the cannon must be purchased individually, and there is a lengthy cooldown period before it can be used again by the same player.

Flying Fortress: The Avenger

This aircraft is armored, heavily weaponized and able to hold up to 30 players inside it at once. It can be placed into "hover" mode to allow the pilot to get up and walk around the interior of the aircraft.

It can be used similarly to a mobile command center, and upgraded with weapon and vehicle workshops plus additional firepower, such as gun turrets that can be manned by passengers.

New Vehicles

15 new vehicles are available for sale, including nine new weaponized vehicles and aircraft and six high-end vehicles.
