ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Rogers mayor candidate Chris Latimer says he opposes the forced annexation of the Scissortail neighborhood into Cave Springs.
He announced in a release that he is “very concerned about what is happening with the forced annexation between Rogers and Cave Springs.”
“The city of Rogers is not acting in the best interest of the residents with this annexation. I stand against this approach and believe that the voices and concerns of the community must be prioritized in any decision making process,” Latimer said.
Both Rogers and Cave Springs city councils agreed to swap land in March. Rogers will get land previously in eastern Cave Springs from Stratsman Lane to Pleasant Grove.
Cave Springs will get land west of Highway 112. The move connects both parts of Cave springs that were previously separated by Rogers.
