Why would Sam's Club be calling me? ›

Credit/Debit cards have a $100 - $150 pre-authorization (varies by state) that occurs to ensure funds are available for the entire fuel purchase, since we don't know how much fuel will be dispensed and it cannot be returned.

You can cancel your Sam's Club® Credit Card by calling (800) 964-1917 or the number on the back of your card.

The credit score needed for the Sam's Club® Credit Card is at least 700. That's in the “good” credit range but barely meeting a card's minimum requirements is far from the ticket to high approval odds.
